Sports psychology and psychotherapy for Individual Performance Enhancement
Mental conditioning and performance enhancement training, teaches skills such as:
- Motivation - Persistance through difficult times and difficult tasks
- Emotional Arousal - Regulating optimal states of arousal that enhance performance
- Controlling Emotions - Management of strong feelings such as anger and excitement
- Positive Self-talk - Enhancing self-confidence through positive self-talk when encountering challenges in one's sport
- Mental Imagery - Using sensory modalities and mental rehearsals to improve performance
- Setting & Achieving Goals - Creating realistic, time-oriented, short and long term goals
These services include an evaluation of mental skills, development of an ongoing training program and collaboration with trainers, coaches or others as needed.
Individual Counseling
Therapy may include issues such as dealing with life stresses, changes in one's life or sport, relationship issues, anxiety, low self-esteem, addictions/eating disorders, loss, career transitions, sports injury, burnout, etc.
Team Consultation
Dr. Bacher also provides consultation with coaches, managers, trainers, other staff regarding communication, morale, team building, conflict resolution, relationship difficulties etc. |
